Vacation with Family

In three weeks, I’m taking a vacation with my husband, daughter and son-in-law. I didn’t even have to plan it; I was planning a weekend getaway, and my daughter and son-in law came up with this idea. They planned a week in Williamsburg,VA at a condo resort. Not only is it more than I expected time wise, but my kids actually want to go away with us. I’m thrilled!
My husband and I had taken our kids to Williamsburg when they were younger and we loved it. Now we’ll enjoy it with our adults kids. I shouldn’t be that surprised about our kids desires to travel with us; we have been doing it almost every year even after they have moved out and with regards to my daughter married. My husband and I usually rent a house or condo on a lake or in a resort area and invite our kids to join us.
We all have a blast and genuinely seem to enjoy each others’ company. I love that my adult children, I’m including my son-in-law, find my husband and I to be interesting travel companions. It isn’t as though we don’t see each other often either, we visit weekly. I know many families who would never think of vacationing with their adult children and could not wait for them to be on their own. Many young people also would not consider a vacation with the family as the best time ever.
I am just very appreciative of the fact, that my kids enjoy spending time with us and with each other.
